August 24, 2022

CAM PhD student Adela DePavia has been selected for a Graduate Research Fellowship from the National Science Foundation. The NSF fellowship will support her research in theoretical computer science, where she is contributing to mathematical foundations of convex optimization algorithms. Working with Assistant Professor Lorenzo Orecchia, Adela is developing theoretical frameworks that allow for better understanding and comparison of methods, with the goal of generating insights for future algorithm development. Her broader research interests include spectral graph theory, connections between discrete- and continuous-problems, and mathematical foundations of data science. Congratulations to Adela DePavia for this honor and exciting opportunity!
