Background
Promit Ghosal completed his Bachelor and Master of Statistics from Indian Statistical Institute. He did his PhD in Statistics from Columbia University, New York. After his PhD, Dr. Ghosal was a CLE Moore Instructor in the department of Mathematics of MIT. Before joining the University of Chicago, Dr. Ghosal spent a year as an assistant professor in the department of mathematics of Brandeis University.
Research
Research Directions: Stochastic PDEs, random growth models, Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation, conformal field theory, optimal transport, dynamics of AI algorithms and Causal Discovery.
